300: Rise of an Empire

Zack Snyder hands off the directing responsibilities to Noam Murro in this sequel to the 2007 film 300. But fear not, Zack is acting as a writer and producer for the upcoming film.

Themistockles will seek revenge for the late King Leonidas.

In this long-awaited sequel, Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), a mortal-turned-god leads a second Persian invasion. This time, he places his faith behind an unforgiving commander, Artemesia (Eva Green). Both will attempt to expand their villain ways throughout Greece, coming to a gridlock with the new Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton). Themistockles will seek revenge for the late King Leonidas.

Rise of an Empire promises to reveal more information about Xerxes history and how he became  “The God King.”Sequels are not always welcomed with open arms but I have a feeling that this one may live up to the hype. On March 7, 2014, you will find me in a nearby theater with eyes full of enthusiasm in anticipation of what appears to be an epic battle at sea.
